Finally, the Supreme Court cancelled the entire panel of the SSC. The country’s top court delivered the verdict at 10: 30 am on Thursday. 25,753 teachers and non-teaching staff lost their jobs. A bench of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Sanjay Kumar said the fresh recruitment process has to be initiated within three months.

The Supreme Court also said that those who left other government jobs and joined school service through SSC in 2016 can go back to their old place of work if they want.

In April last year, a division bench of Justice Debangshu Basak and Justice Md Sabbar Rashid of the Calcutta High Court had cancelled the jobs of 25,753 teachers in connection with the 2016 SSC recruitment scam. The state government has appealed against this decision in the Supreme Court.

Today, the Supreme Court said in its observation that it was not possible to select the eligible and ineligible. The entire process has been rigged. The process has no credibility. The High Court should not interfere. The Supreme Court had upheld the High Court’s decision. However, for the sake of humanity, Soma Das, who is suffering from cancer, got a job. The top court said that Soma Das will continue in service.
