Nibedita Kar Kalyani, 6 March: On the eve of “Dol Purnima”, a group of 150 students and 20 teachers came to the fruit research center of Bidhan Chandra Agricultural University. They came from Shikarpur in Nadia on an educational trip. They were trained throughout the day by the university. It was an excellent session of nature lessons. The students were told about the qualities of fruits, the benefits of fruits, how much fruit should be consumed daily, the necessity of fruit cultivation, why fruit trees should be planted on roadsides and as part of community-based afforestation.
